Happy September! To celebrate and welcome Spring, I made a super delicious green smoothie with no refined sugar. This creamy, fresh and delicious avocado smoothie made using 5 simple ingredients is good for your health. A great breakfast on-the-go option, as a snack or even a light lunch.

There are 2 layers in this Avocado Swirl Smoothie. A sweet banana with fresh avocado layer, followed by an avocado layers with a touch of green powder. I drizzled extra honey on the top to make the simple flower looks alike swirl!

LET’S LOOK AT WHAT ARE THE 5 INGREDIENTS TO MAKE AVOCADO SWIRL SMOOTHIE!

Avocado – is often referred to the King of fruits. This super food is incredibly nutritious. It contains a high amount of potassium, helps with lowering cholesterol, high in fibre and vitamins.

Banana – another popular fruits that taste wonderfully sweet. There are so many good reasons to consume bananas. They are relatively high in vitamins, good for your skin, heart and blood pressure, help with digestive system and boost your energy etc.

Milk – an everyday drink for everyone. Cow milk is a good source of protein and calcium. It is also high in vitamin B12 and iodine, helps with bone development and muscle function. There are also other source of plant based milk such as almond, soy, coconut, rice milk etc that are highly nutritious to human consumption that you can incorporate in this recipe according to your personal preference. Perfectly suitable for vegan and vegetarian.

Honey – a sweet and thick liquid made by honeybees is also highly nutrition. It contains antioxidants that fight against diseases. Honey is delicious and are healthier than sugar. Replace honey with maple syrup for vegan.

Green powder (wheat grass) – good source of many vitamins and minerals. It is high in Vitamin A, C, E and also rich in iron, magnesium, calcium and amino acids.

AVOCADO SWIRL SMOOTHIE
Prep time: 5 minutescooking time: 0 MINUTESserve: 2

INGREDIENTS:

– 1 avocado
– 1 banana
– 2 cups of milk of any kind
– 2 tbsp honey + more for swirl design OR maple syrup
– 1 1/2 tsp wheat grass powder

INSTRUCTIONS

– Place half avocado, whole banana, 1 cup of milk and 2 tbsp honey in the blender. Blend until mixture is smooth. Pour into 2 separate glass.
– Add the remaining avocado, milk and wheat grass powder into the blender and blend until smooth. Pour green smoothie over the top of the banana layer.
– Drizzle honey on the smoothie surface. Use a toothpick to gently stir and swirl the honey, pulling it from the center and draw circles that creates flower like.
